How About a Little Charity?

The following is a request from a friend of Fiddlehead Yarns and has a son-in-law serving in Iraq. Please consider helping!

Hats and Frisbees For The Children of Iraq

My son-in-law, SFC Donald Floro Jr is currently serving his second tour of duty in Iraq. His twice weekly convoy drives about 35 miles across the desert. When he was hom on leave last month, he called and asked if my knitting friends could make warm winter hats for the children who run after convoy begging for treats from the American soldiers. He also requested toys.
Night time temperatures in the winter in Iraq are near the freezing point and frisbees are lightweight, so I can keep the postage costs to a minimum.

Kathy

The shop will gladly collect any hats and/or Frisbees you wish to donate. Dig into your stashes and whip one up if you can!

We will be departing from the shop at 7am and returning at 5pm. Enough time to take a few classes, check out the barns and shows, eat some lamb and knit. No driving, just knitting...all for $35 (your ticket to the festival is included!). If you are interested, call the shop, stop in or send us an email. More information can be found on the shop website. Hope you can join us!
